Nicola Haskins and her partner Robert Davies had lived in Benson, South Oxfordshire, for eight years. But with new development seeing the village grow considerably, and interest rates on the rise, the couple made the decision to downsize their property and escape to the country.

But there was another member of the family for whom the move had to be just right – three-year-old working cocker spaniel Mabel. “She has settled in really well,” says Nicola. “With beautiful countryside literally on our doorstep, we’ve found some stunning walks, so she is definitely in her element in her new home!”

Village life is suiting the rest of the family too. It’s an easy commute to Newbury and Wallingford where the couple work and there is plenty going on locally with a pub, shop, village hall and St Andrew’s Church, which dates-back to the 11^th century.

“We certainly have no regrets about moving here,” says Nicola. “It’s a lovely blank canvas and I can’t wait to turn it into our perfect family home.”
