16th July 2018: The children of Ducklington CE Primary School have been putting their creative talents to the test in a series of fun competitions hosted by Deanfield Homes.

The children of foundation, year one and year two took part in a painting competition to design and paint their own dream home, while year three and four wrote a poem about their perfect home. Year five and six had the exciting challenge of writing a school song. The winners were judged by Annette Gaskell from Deanfield Homes and Sarah Monier-Williams from Savills, selling agent for Deanfield Homes.

Sarah Nisbett, Headteacher of Ducklington CE Primary School commented, “It has been wonderful to see the enthusiasm and creativity amongst the children of all age groups. The competition was something they took part in at home and I know many children had interesting and entertaining conversations with their parents about what they would like in their dream home.

“We are extremely grateful to Deanfield Homes for the donation of £250 which we will be using to buy books for children who need challenging in their reading and often find it hard to find an age appropriate book to read to allow them to continue to progress their reading. Each winner also received a £20 book token.”

Harry Miles age 7 won the painting competition, Xander Keeping, age 8 won the poetry competition and Anna Keeping age 10 created a new school song about ducks.

Annette Gaskell, Sales, Marketing and Customer Liaison Manager for Deanfield Homes comments, “It was a wonderful afternoon spent at Ducklington CE Primary School and an extremely hard job deciding on the overall winners as you could see the time and passion put into each entry. Well done to everyone who took part”.
