A recent report has revealed that more than 420,000¹ people in Britain have been helped onto the housing ladder with the Government’s Help to Buy scheme. This is just the case for one first time buyer, who has just moved into her first home, a three bedroom semi-detached home at Deanfield Meadow in Ducklington, Nr Witney, using Help to Buy.

Lauren Davies, 29, grew up in Witney and moved to Bermuda for two years when she was 23. Upon returning, she rented in London for two years before moving into her boyfriend’s property. When the relationship finished she decided she wanted to move back to the Witney area to live closer to her friends and family.

Lauren comments, “I work for VW in Didcot which is not too far from Witney and was really keen to move back and be closer to my parents, grandparents and friends. I started looking around but couldn’t find anything I liked.

“I then noticed that Deanfield Homes were building a new development just outside Witney. However, I thought it was out of my price range so initially disregarded it.

“After speaking to my mortgage advisor about my options and what I could afford, I decided to take another look at Deanfield Meadow. I was really surprised that I could not only afford to buy there, but had enough to look at a three bedroom semi-detached. I couldn’t quite believe it.

“We had a look around the show home and I was really impressed with the quality of the home and finish. I also liked the fact of owning a brand new home.”

Lauren has purchased a three bedroom semi-detached, Blenheim at Deanfield Meadow. Lauren continues, “The sales advisor was really helpful and talked me through my options including Help to Buy. She guided me all the way, I don’t know what I would have done without her.

“Help to Buy has been really good as it has enabled me to get a larger property than I thought. I have my own inspirational Instagram page for home décor which is now being used in my own home.”

Deanfield Meadow features fourteen homes for private sale and twelve affordable homes. The homes range from two-bedroom semi–detached through to four-bedroom detached.
