April 2019: Work has started on site at Deanfield Homes’ latest development, Deanfield Grange, in the beautiful sought-after West Oxfordshire village of Shipton-Under-Wychwood.

The development, which is located in the heart of the Cotswolds, will feature a selection of three, four and five bedroom family homes built in a traditional style with high specification interiors to suit modern day life.

Annette Gaskell, Sales and Marketing Manager for Deanfield Homes comments, “We are delighted to be starting on site at Deanfield Grange, which is our third development in Oxfordshire in the space of eighteen months.

“Shipton-Under-Wychwood is an extremely desirable location to live and we have already had a great deal of early interest in the homes, which are ideal for families, young professionals and downsizers. We are expecting to launch the show home in the Autumn.”

Deanfield Grange is adjacent to Wychwood Church of England Primary School and the village benefits from a post office, local village store, doctor’s surgery and two pubs, The Shaven Crown, claimed to be among the 10 oldest inns in England, having been founded by the monks of nearby Bruen Abbey and The Wychwood Inn.

In the centre of the village is the green with a distant view of the 13th century parish church, Church of St Mary the Virgin. To one side of the High Street is Shipton Court, one of the largest Elizabethan manor houses in the country, and the other is Wychwood Wild Garden, a beautiful woodland and garden. Laid out in the 1860s, the 12.5 acres of avenues, woods and ponds is home to wildlife and many breeds of ducks and birds. It was acquired by the community in 2010 and is now offered as a place of peace and tranquillity to the public.

Shipton-under-Wychwood lies in the Evenlode Valley, four miles north of Burford and 20 miles from Oxford. There are direct rail connections from Shipton railway station to London Paddington, taking approximately 90 minutes and there are also bus connections to Witney and Chipping Norton.
